St George's Undercroft

17 July 2017

After long and careful deliberation, the Parochial Church Council has approved a plan to bring the Undercroft of St George's into active use for the first time in the church's 292-year history. Work on converting this large vaulted space, used hitherto only for storage, will start almost immediately and take approximately 40 weeks.

The church itself will remain open and in full use throughout this period although access to certain parts of the building will be restricted from time to time. Notification of these restrictions will be made public as soon as details are known.

With effect from Tuesday 18th July, the yard on the south side of the church will not be available for parking.
